Wild Silence – A Shakuhachi Concert

thursday 4 june 202619:30–21:30prenzlauer berg
Wild Silence — A Shakuhachi Concert The shakuhachi is an ancient Japanese bamboo flute, traditionally played by wandering Buddhist monks and known for its uniquely mystical sound. In this intimate concert, Robin “Ryūgo” Tamura explores the traditional honkyoku repertoire, rooted in breath, nature, and silence. A slowly unfolding, transcendental listening experience. 🌿 About your hosts Robin "Ryūgo" Tamura is a certified shakuhachi master and international teacher whose playing moves freely between deep stillness and wild, raw expressiveness. A longtime Buddhist practitioner and yoga teacher, he approaches the shakuhachi not merely as a musical instrument but as a tool for self-exploration and inner cultivation. Teeraum Sanvian is a space for tea and connection in Berlin. Through carefully held tea experiences, concerts and community events, we create moments that invite connection, reflection, creativity, joy and a deeper sense of being.
